Moved In

Odin and I successfully moved to South Burlington last week. Lots of unpacking still to do but here are the things I love so far:

  1. It’s quite and I can sleep with the window open
  2. I never thought I’d say this but central air rocks!
  3. How did I live with out a two car garage for the last seven years ๐Ÿ™‚
  4. My Bosch front loading washers are so much better than what I had

Pictures to follow.

New House in South Burlington

Here is a shot of the front of my new place at the Cider Mill in South Burlington. I should be moving in early June. I’m looking forward to downsizing and no maintenance of the condo association. After seven years of home projects most weekends I’m looking forward to just being on the boat and watching someone else mow my lawn.ย  I’ll miss being able to walk downtown but open windows and bike paths have won out. If you asked me two years ago If I’d move to suburbia I would have laughed at you. Withย  my current work and travel scheduleย  I’m going to give my hammer a rest for a bit.

It has been great to work with Mary Pat and Jen at Milot Real Estate as they have made this super easy which in between trips to Ireland and Chicago made this all possible. Plus I would have never thought of living in South Burlington unless Jay Strausser my Real Estate agent nudged me to take a look. I’m very glad I did as it is funny how your geography becomes limited to where you regularly drive.

It has been fun to pick out all the finish details and not have to do any of the work. That happily sunk in Sunday as I picked 6 interior paint colors that I’m not going to have to lift a brush for. Compared to the several month’s of evenings and weekends it took me to paint Willard I could not be happier. There will still be plenty of fun projects to do but I’m going to leave them for rainy weekends when I can’t be on the boat.

April Notes

I’ll admit I have not been doing well with my goal of blogging more so I’ll give you a bulk update.

Had a great vacation in Hong Kong with Adam, Al, and Karen. Took two trips to mainland China and one day trip to Macau.

Work is still a blast and I have been traveling most weeks hitting Chicago, NYC, Vegas, Minneapolis, California, Texas, and Baltimore. Tried to catch the opening day of baseball at Yankee stadium but Glenn and I got rained out. Hopefully we will get All Star tickets so we can catch the game. Drop me a line if you want any Yankees tickets as we have been selling them on stubhub.com which has been working quite well. Not sure where are season tickets will be in the new stadium but I’m going to miss the old stadium as there are a lot of good memories held in that place. I remember the days when we only had funds for a beer or a hot dog. I’ll let you guess which won out.

I’m moving to South Burlington from my house in Burlington. While I love being able to walk downtown I just don’t have the time and energy for all the up keep on the old Victorian and the Apartments. So, down sizing and heading to suburbia. It is new construction so I’ll keep you posted on the progress.

Odin has been loving the warm weather and he hit the lake this weekend for a swim up in Milton.
